What is a catechist?
Catechist is an ancient Christian term (from the Greek word "to echo") for someone commissioned by the Christian community "to hand down" the Catholic Christian tradition.
Do I qualify as a catechist?
All experience levels are needed. Those with less experience in Faith Formation will be paired with those with more experience. And, we provide awesome training and resource materials.

Faith Formation Volunteer Training
- All of our parish's ministry volunteers receive training and support throughout their ministry. See each ministry above for their respective training dates.
- Sexual abuse, whether by clergy or others, is still a present reality in society. Our Ethics and Integrity in Ministry training provides individuals with the necessary skills to identify inappropriate, grooming behavior, tools to make our parish programs safe and healthy places for our children and young people, and information on how to report inappropriate and abusive behavior. Volunteers must complete Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) training from the Diocese of Austin. New volunteers please click here to complete an EIM Application to enroll in the diocesan EIM system.
