Dorothy Cielonko started her dance career in Racine, Wisconsin in the early 1980s at Arthur Murray Dance Studio. She has been trained in twelve American Bronze social dances (Foxtrot, Swing, Waltz, Slow Step, Disco-Hustle, Polka, Rumba, Cha Cha Cha, Mambo/Salsa, Merengue, Tango and Samba).
Since moving to Texas, she has added to her list Two Step and West Coast Swing. Her expertise is beginners but can teach American Silver level dances as well. After moving to Texas in 2003 she decided to start a program in 2009 at Lifetime Fitness in Austin, Texas until 2020.
During this time in 2015 Dorothy was hired as an adjunct professor for the Exercise Science program at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, where her three children attended, to teach social dance as a PE class. This January it will be 10 years of teaching at the University. In addition to teaching Dorothy has choreographed wedding dance routines for brides & grooms, fathers & daughters and mothers & sons.
In 2021 she started teaching at Twin Creeks Country Club in Cedar Park, TX up until just recently. She is now teaching at the Harris Community Center in Belton, TX where she and her husband reside near their 5 grandchildren.
